Yesterday the Perry Fareway presented a check from their recent round-up fundraiser to New Opportunities of Dallas County.

Store Manager Travis Landgrebe gave a check for $621.45 to Perry Mayor Elect John Andorf. Andorf and his wife Linda volunteer extensively with New Opportunities, which includes running the Toys for Tots program. Andorf was very grateful to Fareway and it’s customers for their continued support of the cause, as this is the second year in a row they’ve done a round-up fundraiser for New Opportunities. Landgrebe gave much of the credit for the fundraiser’s success to the cashiers, who he said did a great job of asking every customer if they wanted to participate.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward food baskets and toys for local families over the holidays. Andorf said this year they have around 300 kids participating in the program.
