The Perry Police Department is once again holding their “Shop with a Cop” program, and they’re looking for donations from the community.

The program provides $125 to each of the selected families in need. A child from each family will go shopping around Perry alongside an officer, to buy Christmas gifts for their family. The child will purchase something for each member of their household, and also something for themselves. All the presents will then be taken to the Perry Elementary School to be wrapped for Christmas morning. Additionally, thanks to other donations from the community, the families are sent home with items needed for Christmas dinner.

The tentative shopping date for this year will be December 16th, and the police department will accept donations until November 30th. Once all the funds are collected, they will determine how many families will be able to participate in this year’s program.
