lighted christmas

One final reminder: tonight at 7 p.m. is the annual Lighted Christmas Parade in Perry.

The parade is being organized by the Chamber of Commerce, and Board member Emily Leslie tells Raccoon Valley Radio people can still get involved if they want to have an entry. “We’ve had some businesses that have called and said, ‘Hey, I’m coming! What do I do?’ You can either call and let us know you’re coming, and we can tell you just please do not throw candy — with the poor visibility of the darkness and the children diving in front of the cars is never a good idea — or just show up at 2nd and Otley at 6:00 for the lineup.”

The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will be among the parade entries, as it has been in years past. Following the parade, people of all ages are invited to La Poste for the first ever Poste Holiday Lighted Parade Party. Activities include: s’mores provided by the Perry High School Junior Class Prom Committee on the front porch; music, cookies, hot chocolate, and stocking surprise giveaways in the main gallery; and hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and Genevieve Salamone, the “One-Woman Symphony,” in the Cellar. Additionally, Santa will be making an appearance at 7:45.
