Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity is once again hosting their annual Nativity Festival fundraiser for Greene County.

Associate Director Jeff Lamoureux says the Nativity Festival will take place at the First United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 10th. The festivities begin with several displays of nativity scenes at 3pm. Anyone can register their nativity scene to be on display by calling Jeff’s wife Jill Lamoureux at 370-4785. There’s no cost to display a nativity scene. Anyone can also donate their nativity scene to be a part of the silent auction.

The main part of the event is a community concert with several choral and instrumental performances in the sanctuary starting at 4pm. A soup supper and pie auction will conclude the evening, starting at 5:15pm in the fellowship hall. Jeff talks about the most impressive part about the annual fundraiser.

“The outpouring of support from the community and for those who contribute. It’s amazing how it all comes together. It’s always inspiring to me and it speaks well of Habitat, but it also speaks well of our community that people are willing to share their talents in this event to help raise money for us.”

All proceeds to go back to Greene County housing projects with Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity.
