ADM Tigers

Next week begins another competition season for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers wrestling team, and they start their dual schedule hosting a state rank opponent from the Raccoon River Conference. One statewide wrestling publication, the website IA Wrestle, released their preseason rankings this week and the site ranked the Ballard Bombers the second best team in Class 2A. Five Bomber wrestlers are rated individually by IA Wrestle including senior Jarrett Miller (No. 2 138), Skyler Noftsger (No. 2 152), Tate Battani (No. 5 160), Ben Lee (No. 2 182), Colin Anderson (No 9 285).

ADM head wrestling coach Chris Hatchitt tells Raccoon Valley Radio that his team’s gearing up for two quality opponents in their season opener. “First off, Ballard’s one of the best one’s in the state, and North Polk is no slouch either. They are two quality teams.” Hatchitt said, “We’re stepping on the mat with good competition. That’s what we are trying to mentally and physically be prepared for two tough opponents right out of the gate.”

We could see two ranked wrestle offs between ADM and Ballard next week. ADM junior Hogan Hopewell is the site’s eighth-ranked wrestler at 138 in Class 2A, while junior Nolan Harsh received the No. 6 ranking at 152 pounds. The teams will compete against one another and North Polk Thursday. First grapples start at 5:30 p.m. at ADM High Schoo
