acgcACGC activities are off to a great start this year, with state qualifiers in cross country and vocal music. You can add Special Olympics bowling to that list. However, the three qualifiers didn’t just participate in Des Moines Bowlerama’s State Tournament, they all came away with awards.

Becky Kopaska, Matthew Kopaska, and Christal Laughery all competed in the tournament. Becky Kopaska won the Division Eight Singles title with a combined score of 395. Laughery finished in second in Division 13 Singles with 369 points, and Matthew Kopaska won the Division 15 Singles title with 349 points.

Athletic Director Jake Mohling commented on the support from the student body. “Just seeing the smiles on those kids faces and having our whole school really support them and cheer them on, that’s a good thing for a school community.”

The three qualified for the tournament by winning their respective divisions in the West Central area regional. Athletes are assigned particular divisions based on average scoring and other factors. Additional information including a full list of results can be found below:
