A house fire in Perry Wednesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of 26-year-old Colton Jennings Siglin of Perry.

At around 1:45 p.m., emergency crews were called to a residence in the 300 block of Lucinda Street. The house is the residence of Perry Volunteer Fire Chief Chris Hinds. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and no one was injured. However, after an initial investigation, the Perry Police Department arrested Siglin on a charge of second degree arson, a class C felony. Siglin was transported to the Dallas County Jail and is currently being held on a $10,000 cash/surety bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 8th.

Hinds declined to comment on the incident. The fire and police departments were assisted at the scene by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services and Alliant Energy personnel. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it’s made available.
