Collin Stowe, Klare Sheley, Daniel Jayne, and Vocal Director Kelsey Moran at the All-State Music Festival in Ames

Last Saturday a chorus of hundreds of voices rang through Stephens Auditorium in Ames. Among the 600 selected for this year’s Iowa All-State Chorus, three were from Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center. Junior soprano Klare Sheley, senior tenor Daniel Jayne, and senior bass Collin Stowe participated.

Sheley and Stowe were selected for the second consecutive year, while this is Jayne’s first and only selection. Jayne talked about his experiences, including his ability to get where he needed to go at the right time. “If I got lost in the crowd, I just looked for those two (Sheley and Stowe) to see where to go, especially Collin because he’s so tall.”

The three were also in the cast for the high school’s fall production of The Wizard of Oz. The vocal department will finish off the year with a Christmas concert on December 19th at 6:30 pm. You can hear more from the students on today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County Program.
