A Monday evening chase through Dallas Center resulted in two individuals being arrested, and a third suspect is still at-large.
In a press release, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office reports at around 8:14 p.m. Monday, a deputy was on routine patrol in Dallas Center. The deputy attempted to pull over a 1992 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a routine traffic offense near the intersection of Highway 44 and Quinlan Avenue. The driver of the vehicle didn’t yield to the deputy and a chase ensued. It ended when the suspect crashed on Linden Street in Dallas Center, and three occupants took off running from the vehicle.
The driver, 28-year-old Zachariah Shulte, was apprehended after a foot chase, as was one passenger, 23-year-old Mickeala Johnson. The third unidentified occupant managed to get away. Both individuals were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital before being arrested. Upon searching the suspect’s vehicle, the deputies found marijuana, prescription medication, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed in the case at a later date, and the investigation in on-going.
