Stuart’s First Congregational Church is collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child through tomorrow. The church will be accepting donations today from 9-11 am and tomorrow from 9am-noon. The project provides underprivileged children around the world with gifts during the holiday season.
Participants can purchase a shoebox at the church or bring their own. Boxes should be filled with donations including personal hygiene items, clothing, books, and toys. Items that won’t be accepted include: weapons, perishable food items, or toothpaste. First Congregational Church has participated in the program since 1995 and collected over 1,200 boxes from surrounding communities last year.
