The Jefferson Does are conducting a quilt raffle to help out a local organization.
Does member Pat Miller says they are raffling off a Victorian-style quilt, with all proceeds to benefit the Greene County Adopt-A-Family organization. She states that they received the donated quilt from a former Does member’s family, which had been previously purchased at another fundraiser, but it has never been used. She says the decision to give the fundraising proceeds to Adopt-A-Family was in honor of the former Does member whom they received the quilt from.
“The reason we chose Adopt-A-Family was because Cheryl had a real heart for Adopt-A-Family, plus the fact that she was one of the original board members. So we thought that was the appropriate place for it to go.”
The quilt is on display at People’s Trust and Savings Bank in Jefferson from now until November 20th. The winner of the raffle will be announced at 2pm Tuesday, November 21st at the Greene County Courthouse. Miller says winners don’t have to be present to win.
Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Tickets can be purchased from any Does member or by contacting Miller at 386-3048 or Shirley Danielson at 386-2327.
