This Sunday Guthrie County 4-H will celebrate the year with their annual awards ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center auditorium, starting at 3 pm. The awards are primarily based on record books that members submitted at this year’s county fair. This event gives kids an opportunity to meet fellow 4-H’ers and receive recognition for all their accomplishments. The event will last around two hours with some refreshments to follow. The theme for this year’s event is “It Brings out the Kids in You,” which was the same as the 2017 Guthrie County Fair.
Adair County 4-H also recently celebrated their awards ceremony. 4-H and Youth Coordinator Donna Wallace speaks on the importance of adult volunteers and their recognition at the awards ceremony. “Our volunteers are extremely important to any 4-H program. We honor the years of service. Every five years of service is recognized.”
Adair County 4-H recognized a dozen volunteers with 5-35 years of service, along with alumni and “Friends of 4-H”.
