The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

The Board heard an update from Jefferson City Administrator Mike Palmer, who talked about the downtown revitalization project. He said most buildings will be done by November 30th’s scheduled deadline, with a few exceptions like Muir Embroidery and the former Treasure Chest building. He then gave an update on the three downtown buildings the City owns. Cleanup work continues on the interior of the former Pizza Ranch building, structural engineering plans were received for the building north of Angie’s Teagarden and the building at 100 East State Street will have more tuckpointing and possibly painting the exterior slated for next year.

The Board then approved a wine license for Deal’s Orchard and heard updates from Greene County Engineer Wade Weiss. He told the Board he is working with MidAmerican Energy on the cost of repairs to four miles on County Road P-46 from 130th to 170th streets. He also said the bridge deck for the E-57 bridge will be poured Tuesday and the Supervisors are expected to approve a contract for the County to purchase a $6,000 property in Paton that is adjacent to the Secondary Roads facility.

Finally, the Board canvassed the recent election. Only one absentee ballot was received for the City of Rippey’s election, which didn’t change the outcome. The Board then had to draw one of two names from a hat to break a tie for an at-large city council seat in Paton. It was between Matt Fox and Jeff Headley. Supervisor Vice-Chair Dawn Rudolph drew Fox’s name at random to take the council seat.
