The Greene County Medical Center Foundation is continuing their campaign to raise $350,000 for a 3D mammography machine.
Foundation Director Hollie Roberts says their campaign is called “Greene County Medical Center: Adding a Third Dimension to Your Healthcare.” She points out that so far, they’ve raised $12,000 from their golf outing in July, and the medical center’s Auxiliary donated another $20,000. Roberts adds that they are currently going through the medical center employee part of the campaign with “Penny Wars.”
“We have ten teams consisting of every one of the departments in the hospital. It’s so much fun because we have people going from department to department trying to find their container. And obviously they’re going to put quarters or dimes in their container. When we get into that last week, the team that’s got the most pennies or got the most points is going to get some unwanted deposits.”
Roberts says the employee campaign will end November 16th, but the public can also donate to the competition as well. Plus, Roberts notes that there are t-shirts available for $20 in the gift garden of the medical center, with all proceeds going towards the campaign. Finally, Roberts says their Greenbacker public campaign will begin later this month.
