This Thursday, Hometown Heritage, the Perry Public Library, and Hotel Pattee are combining forces to host Dallas County History Trivia Night.

The event will be emceed by author and Dallas County historian Darcy Maulsby, and doors will open at 5:45 p.m. Alissa Whitmore, Research Assistant for Hometown Heritage, explains what kind of questions the trivia enthusiasts will need to answer. “So it’ll all relate to Dallas County. There’s most likely going to be a fair amount of questions on Perry. And all of them will have kind of a history element or theme to them, but it can be all different kinds of things. So historical crime and punishment, history of sports, that kind of thing. So we’re going to hit a lot of interest areas, but we’re going to have kind of both older history as well as recent things.”

Cost to participate is $10 per person, which will give attendees entrance to the event, one free drink, and snacks on their table. If anyone wants to form a team, the cost will be $90 for a table of 10 people, with each member getting a free drink and snacks. Besides saving money, Whitmore says another incentive for forming a team is they will get to pick the topic for one of the rounds. Additional drinks and food will be available for purchase, and all the proceeds from the event will go towards programming at Hometown Heritage.
