WCV (1)The West Central Valley girls basketball team will hit the court tomorrow for their season opener at Atlantic. The Lady Wildcats will try and improve from a 9-14 campaign last season.

Head Coach Drew Stonewall is in his fourth season, and has used his time to develop a consistent program. Stonewall has coached the Lady Wildcats to at least nine wins in the last three seasons. Stonewall relies heavily on the offseason to build the program. “I thought we had a really good summer again. I’m hoping that translates into some good things this winter. I just think we’ve tried to build every year, trying to do a little more in the offseason. We’re hoping we reap the benefits of that this year.”

Stonewall also realizes this season will be tough, as in his mind, the conference is getting better. “I think last year was a lot of fun because it just seemed like everyone was a lot better. There weren’t any ‘gimme games’. Every night was a battle.”

The Lady Wildcats will also participate in the Hall of Pride Scrimmage at Saydel Saturday, November 18th.
