Greene County High School Activities Director and head football coach Mitch Moore told Raccoon Valley Radio that Ram athletes will be lifting weights, whether they are in a Winter sport or not. “The guys that are in a Winter sport, we’ll mandate they lift twice a week and they’re in there working their tails off maintaining a good sense of focus in the weight room and striving to get better, and more flexible, and more explosive, even during their seasons.”

The coach added, “I think what people forget is these kids recover very quickly between the ages of 14 and 18. You don’t wear kids out unless you’re putting too much volume on them or having them stand on their feet for hours. Quick lifts, flexibility, corps strength. It’s not there to just maintain. You’ve got to continue to try and get better!”

Four and five day a week weight lifting sessions are held for athletes not out for a Winter sport.
