The City of Perry is observing Veterans Day this Friday, which will cause the closure of several City entities.

The City offices, water works department, the public library, and the McCreary Recreation Building will all be closed Friday in observance of the holiday. Additionally, the citywide garbage and yard waste pickup days this week have been altered. Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson explains, “Thursday’s routes will be picked up on Wednesday, and Friday’s routes will be picked up on Thursday. There’ll be no yard waste pickup this Wednesday, and the final yard waste pickup will be next Wednesday, November 15th.”

Peterson adds, the City will consider holding more yard waste pickup days after Thanksgiving if the Public Works Department feels it’s necessary and they have the resources for it. Anyone with questions about the Veterans Day closings in Perry can contact City Hall at 515-465-2481.
