City of PatonThe City of Paton has reported their unofficial election results from Tuesday.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s office, since no one submitted nomination papers for the mayor’s seat, Paton citizens had to do a write-in. Of the 44 votes cast for write-ins, Steve Burrell came out on top with 21 votes, followed by Jake Bohnet and Dave Crandell, each with 11 votes, and Brian Tasler had one vote.

As for the two at-large city council seats, Diane Hanlon was elected with 24 votes, while Jeff Headley received 19 votes. However, Matt Fox also received 19 write-in votes, which created a tie for the second at-large city council seat. Deputy Auditor Billie Hoskins says the Greene County Board of Supervisors will put both Headley and Fox’s names into a hat and draw the winner for the seat when they canvass the votes at their regular meeting on Monday.
