The Stuart Lions Club is gearing up for another edition of a holiday tradition. The club is once again hosting this year’s Stuart Community Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 9th.
The event kicks off with a free-will donation chili and soup lunch starting at 11 am. The celebration will once again delight children with goodie bags, kiddie train rides, and of course, Santa. For the adults, the prize drawings return. There is also a new element to this year’s festivities. Children will be able to purchase gifts for their moms and dads at the “Kids Free Shopping” section.
Lions Club Treasurer Kristy Lonsdale describes the community’s reaction to this event. “They love to come up and just kick off the Christmas celebration (and) get the feeling of Christmas and community spirit.”
The club also plans to place the Christmas tree in the Pocket Park downtown. The club is currently seeking donations for the prize drawings and “Kids Free Shopping”. All proceeds go towards the Lions Club’s activities and charitable donations. Contact the club for more information.
