In its second season as a consolidated athletic program, ACGC Volleyball improved their season win total and playoff performance from their first season last year.
Last year’s Lady Chargers finished with a 15-12 (4-4 WCAC) record. The team won a regular season tournament in Anita, but couldn’t get past IKM-Manning in the first round of the Region playoffs. This season, Coach Lyndsey Noe led the team to a 21-10 (4-4 WCAC) record. The Lady Chargers won their home tournament as well as their sixth consecutive tournament victory in Anita. The squad’s early season dominance earned them a bye, a home quarterfinal, and a favorable fixture with Madrid in the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, the Lady Chargers’ season came to an end at the hands of St. Albert in a three set defeat.
The Lady Chargers lose two pivotal senior players. Madylin Smith and MaKayla Hoing were this year’s team captains. Their leadership showed on and off the court. Smith earned 1st team All-Conference honors while Hoing earned 2nd Team All-Conference and Academic All-State distinctions. While these two athletes will leave measurable voids, there are still plenty of shining stars for Noe to build around. These include All-Conference Honorable mention selections Jadeyn Carrick and Olivia Laabs.
