Next week Midwest Partnership Economic Development Corporation, along with Western Iowa Advantage, will be hosting a series of workshops. The Economic Development 101 sessions will take place in Greenfield on Tuesday, November 14th and Guthrie Center on Thursday, November 16th from 5-6:30 pm. The Greenfield session will take place at the Hotel Greenfield, while Guthrie Center’s will be located at the Guthrie County Iowa State Extension Office.
These sessions are designed to provide an overview of basic concepts and principles of the economic development process, how economic development works, and community involvement in business relations. The events are open to county supervisors, city council members, mayors, city clerks, and community members. Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Resource and Service (CIRAS) will lead the presentations.
Anyone interested in signing up for the program should choose a date that fits their schedule best, rather than attending their home community’s event. The event is free, but RSVPs are requested, as dinner will be provided to all attendees.
