pheasants-forever_logo_web1The 31st annual Greene County Pheasants Forever banquet and auction is happening this weekend.

Chapter President Kevin Devilbliss says the event will take place in Clover Hall at the Greene County Fairgrounds this Saturday. A social time will start at 5:30pm, with the buffet dinner from Lidderdale Country Store at 7pm. The live auction will follow the meal. He points out that there will also be silent auction, raffles and games taking place throughout the evening.

Devilbliss says the national and state Pheasants Forever programs are mostly dedicated to purchasing habitat areas to improve overall wildlife. He talks about what Greene County’s chapter has done recently.

“We did like eight food plots last year for like 30-acres. And these are on private ground, we just furnish the seed, the farmer plants it and they leave it up for one year for wildlife to eat. We sent three girls to a youth outdoor camp, which we really enjoy doing because it gets the girls involved and they learn a lot.”

Tickets are $45 for an annual membership and meal, with an additional $10 ticket for the spouse. Children under 15-years-old also cost $10. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by contacting Devilbliss at 386-3762.
