All teams in Class 3A District 2 have completed their seasons, and the All-District football selections can be announced. Greene County went 1-8 overall and 1-6 within the district. The Rams had three players named to the all-district team and two more were on the honorable mention list.
Senior Jake Berns made the team at linebacker, while sophomore Xavier Hayes was named as a defensive back, and junior Trey Hinote made the offensive team as a wide receiver. Quarterback Clint Dennhardt, a junior, and sophomore offensive and defensive tackle Tyler Miller, were on the honorable mention list.
Scott Heitland of district champion Dallas Center-Grimes was named Coach of the Year. Boone quarterback Mason Hulse was selected as Offensive MVP and DC-G linebacker Trent Carpenter received Defensive MVP honors.
There were 23 players chosen for the offensive team, 20 on defense, plus a kicker and a punter. Of the 45 selections, 32 are seniors, 12 are juniors, and Hayes was the only sophomore. There were 25 players on the honorable mention list, which was not broken out by grade.
