This Tuesday isn’t just Election Day, it’s also the annual Perry Chamber of Commerce Chili Feed at the McCreary Recreation Building.
The Chamber hosts the chili feed every year on election day. Chamber Board member Misty VonBehren says though some years are bigger than others based on the gravity of the election, the Chamber is hopeful there will be a good turn-out due to the competition for the at-large city council seat. The cost for the meal is $6, which will get you all-you-can-eat chili or potato soup provided by Hy-Vee. There will also be desserts available, including homemade pies that can be purchased for $2 a slice.
Additionally, there will be another opportunity for those who haven’t yet gotten their yearly flu shot. VonBehren explains, “Hy-Vee will be there with their mobile medical van, where they’ll be doing flu shots. So if you have not got your flu shot yet this season, great opportunity for you to come out, vote, get your flu shot, have some chili!”
The chili feed will run from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. To learn more about this and other Chamber events, listen to today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
