October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and this year’s theme is “Inclusion Drives Innovation.”

Genesis Development has a presence in Greene and Dallas counties. Genesis provides both counties with their Employment Services Department. It started in Greene County in 1985 and currently there are 13 people working in the County.  Additionally, ten high school students are involved in Genesis’s Experienced Based Career Exploration and the Making the Grade program in conjunction with Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services.

Likewise, the Employment Services Department started in Dallas County in 2010 and there’s currently 26 people working in the County. Additionally, Genesis serves six high school students in the Experienced Based Career Exploration program at Perry High School.
