A well known organization will be traveling to Greene County for a three-day visit and program.

Leadership Iowa is an extension of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation, and will be in Greene County November 1st through the 3rd for its annual program. The three-day event starts tomorrow with optional visits for this year’s class of 40 participants to tour John Deere Paton and Bauer Built Manufacturing. Greene County Development Corporation Executive Director Ken Paxton will then welcome everyone at 209 Main in Paton.

Thursday will feature several keynote speakers at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson. Speakers will include Iowa Economic Development Authority Director Debi Durham. There will also be breakout sessions to learn about manufacturing in Iowa and a vision of creative planning and intentional planning. Thursday afternoon will be an opportunity for participants to tour more facilities including: American Athletic Incorporated, Power Lift, Scranton Manufacturing and Deal’s Orchard.

Friday will wrap up the event with economic development discussions at RVP~1875. The event was coordinated by Leadership Iowa Greene County alumni including: Jacque Andrew, Carole Custer, Chris Deal and Nicole Peckumn, along with other alums like Kay Snyder and Drew Kamp.

Leadership Iowa allowed participants to travel to eight locations in Iowa to learn about the issues facing communities and gain a better understanding of the role they can play in addressing those challenges.
