Another season of Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers volleyball ended last week in the regional tournament. A five-set loss to Glenwood (23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 14-25, 12-25) brought the Tigers season to a close with a 23-12 overall record. Today we’ll look back at the statistical leaders from this years campaign.
Eighty-four percent of ADM’s kills came from three players, a pair of seniors and a sophomore. Senior Sami Schepers recorded 353 of ADM’s 772 kills this fall, a career-best mark and an average of 3.8 kills per set. Senior Amy Gottschalk smashed 156 kills, while sophomore Josi Lonneman contributed 143. Sophomore Delaney Bertman orchestrated the Tigers offense, dishing out 555 assists. Three Tiger players registered 30 or more ace serves this season. Gottschalk was ADM’s team leader with 54 aces. Sophomore Abbie Hlas and Bertman recorded 33 and 31 aces respectively.
Five ADM players recorded more than 100 digs defensively. Senior libero Jordan Hook finished one dig shy of 400 for the season. Senior Ellie Mueller was second on the team with 213. Other dig totals include Hlas with 138, Schepers with 124, and Bertman with 121. Two Tigers had more than 50 blocks this season including Gottschalk with 58 and Jordyn Crow with 54.
Six seniors are expected to graduate this spring from the program including Gottschalk, Hook, Emma Kaney, Mueller, Schepers, and Ashley Tennant.
