StuartThe Stuart Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED) met in regular session Thursday.

Economic Development Liaison Kristen Renslow updated the members on the second phase of the Wambold Housing Addition. The project includes 24 lots on about ten acres. Despite some community concern voiced at this week’s City Council meeting, all financial requirements have been met. The next step in the project will be the acquisition of a land grant from the City, which will be discussed at next month’s City Council meeting.

Renslow also informed the members on community participation in the SEED workshops at City Hall. The workshops are intended to guide business owners in development opportunities and expand their knowledge on a variety of topics. The first workshop was postponed due to low interest, however Renslow has seen increased interest in the two upcoming workshops.

Finally, Midwest Partnership Executive Director Sarah Gomez gave a recap on the most recent business blitz. Gomez and her team identified 75 businesses in Adair, Menlo, and Casey. Of the 75, they visited 35 and received survey results  with feedback from each one.
