acgcEntering into the final week of Iowa high school regular season football, both ACGC and Logan-Magnolia are not in playoff contention. However, there’s still a sense of pride to play for as the Chargers travel to Logan tomorrow to tangle with the Panthers.

The Panthers come into the game at 4-4 and will miss the postseason for the first time in four years. The Panthers will hope to win this game as they have not had a losing season in the last ten years. The Panthers are led by junior running back Jessup Lake. Lake is coming into the game with 678 yards and six touchdowns. Senior Kolby Morrison also enters the match with six touchdowns on the ground to go along with just two touchdowns through the air and two interceptions.

The Chargers enter the game still searching for win number two. Last season the two teams played a heated game and Coach Mark McDermott tells Raccoon Valley Radio he’s had no trouble motivating the players to come into this game with intensity. The Chargers are hoping to pick up where they left off last season against the Panthers, scoring 22 points in last year’s contest in Guthrie Center. That total is the second most in any ACGC game, behind this season’s opening 27 against West Central Valley. The Chargers have scored the same number of points in the last six games as in the win against Des Moines Christian in week two, which includes four shutouts.

Kickoff is at 7 pm in Logan.
