This week, the Dallas County Supervisors got the ball rolling on three projects for facilities improvements.
The first is the courthouse landscaping plan, which includes planting several trees and other foliage around the building grounds. The Board had looked at two companies who had bid for the work, but one of them hadn’t included a few aspects that were ultimately deemed necessary for the project. With those parts added, the bid from Outdoor Design Solutions stood out over the one from Bob Lenc Landscaping. The Supervisors awarded the project to Outdoor Design for the amount of $12,082.74.
The other two projects were for roof replacements on the Human Services Campus and the 902 Court Street building. When originally reviewing the bids for the projects, the Board awarded them to two different companies. However, the company awarded the Human Services work, Central States Roofing, said they wouldn’t be able to get to the roof on the north side of the building until this spring. They did say they could start and finish work on the south side this fall, and also offered to do some patch work on the north at no additional charge. The Supervisors found that agreeable and awarded Central contracts of $58,270 for the south roof and $86,420 for the north.
Additionally, they awarded a contract to Academy Roofing for $46,000 for work on the 902 Court building.
