The United States Department of Agriculture has officially designated Adair County has a primary natural disaster area due to recent drought conditions.

Along with Adair County, the USDA also declared Ringgold County as a primary natural disaster area. All counties contiguous to those two counties are eligible for natural disaster assistance through the Farm Service Agency Emergency Loan Funds, including Dallas and Guthrie counties.

Farmers and ranchers in the qualified counties have eight months to apply for assistance and must meet all eligibility requirements.
