Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity recently received a donation from a Greene County business.
John Deere in Paton recently donated $5,000 to the organization that serves Boone, Greene and Guthrie counties. Associate Director Jeff Lamoureux says John Deere not only donated funds, but they also allowed their employees to help for a third consecutive year on a Helping Hands project. This year, the employees helped replace a roof at the home of Steve and Sherry Joy in Paton. The employees worked for four days and provided over 200 hours of labor. They also helped out painting the exterior of the home and the garage.
Lamoureux adds that the employees are a valuable asset to Habitat’s housing ministry and the Helping Hands projects in Greene County.
