Around 100 Stuart area community members gathered at the Stuart Public Library last night to bid on the best pickles, pies, and pizza. Laughter and smiles filled the room as the community came out to support the Library’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The live and silent auctions featured over 150 items, and raised nearly $6,000 for the Library.
Library Director Lisa Sherman expressed her thanks to the community before the auction began. She also took time to highlight the Library’s recent progress. “The Trustees are just building and building. We’ve got a couple new members this year. The PALS group I’m thrilled with. ”
The highest purchased item was a large selection of steaks and other meats, going for $425. Chad Daugherty of Daugherty Auction and Real Estate Services donated his services as tonight’s auctioneer. The Library uses most of the proceeds to purchase books and other media.
