The November city elections are less than a month away, and the City of Adel has contested races for each open position. With that in mind, the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidates forum this Monday.
The forum will be held at the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn middle school/high school auditorium at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to come learn about all the candidates for mayor and city council, as well as discuss the issues facing the City. There are two individuals running for Mayor of Adel, including long-time incumbent Jim Peters and the 19-year-old challenger Carter Nordman. Additionally, there are four people running for two at-large City Council positions, including incumbent Rebecca Hillmer, Rob Christensen, Jodi L. Selby, and Bryce Allan Smith. Current Council member Jon McAvoy decided not to seek reelection.
All six candidates are expected to take part in the candidates forum. There is no cost to attend.
