With just two weeks left in the season, the Chargers will celebrate their seniors tomorrow night before looking to the offseason. The Chargers will attempt to spoil the Falcons’ playoff push as OA-BCIG comes to Guthrie Center.
The Falcons bring with them the leading rusher in District 1A-7. Senior Chase Devitt already has over 1,000 yards rushing and ten touchdowns. This is Devitt’s second consecutive 1,000 yard rushing season. The Falcons also have the second leading passer in the district. Junior Kaden Ladwig enters tomorrow’s contest with 562 yards and six touchdowns. However, Ladwig also has the most interceptions of any district quarterback this season with seven.
Eight seniors will take Jarman Field one last time. Among them are the Charger’s starting tailback, wide receiver, and tight end. Injury and illness have plagued Logan Brinks’ season. Last week Brinks suffered an ankle injury against IKM-Manning and his status is questionable for tomorrow night. Brinks has 240 yards and one rushing touchdown this season. Caden Wardyn electrified the crowd week one with an impressive 80 yard punt return touchdown against West Central Valley. He leads the receiving core with 207 yards and two touchdowns. Cole Boyer also has 110 yards rushing.
Dustin Hansen, Owen Hansen, Sam Fuller, Nate Schiller, and Collin Stowe round out the senior class. Kickoff is at 7 pm.
