The Jefferson Water Department has delayed flushing water mains until next week.

Public Works Director Dave Morlan says the water department is currently fixing a water main break in the 100 block of East Washington Street. He adds that they might have to shut water off temporarily to a couple of houses in the affected area, but only to make necessary repairs to the water main. Do to that repair, the department will wait until next week to flush water mains throughout the city.
