On Monday the Panorama junior varsity football team faced Clarke. However, the score of the game was far from the minds of the Panther players. The Panther defense gave an opposing player with special needs an opportunity to score a touchdown.
In the second quarter, the Clarke coaching staff inserted a player with cerebral-palsy. The Panther defense allowed the player to score a touchdown, even though that score increased Clarke’s lead by two touchdowns. Clarke won the game 38-34. Panorama JV head coach David Van Ahn and the rest of the coaching staff are extremely proud of their team’s willingness to give an opposing player a lifetime memory.
The Panthers finish the season with home games against Earlham and Des Moines Christian later this month.
