Two tournaments over the course of three days have given the Panorama Panthers volleyball team (6-14) plenty of on-court experience. The Panthers return to competition tonight as they resume West Central Conference match play at Van Meter (10-3 overall; 4-0 WCC). Van Meter is undefeated in four league contests this fall, while Panorama notched their first conference match victory last Tuesday against West Central Valley.
The Panthers were on the court last night participating in a tournament hosted by the Saydel Eagles. Panorama returned to Guthrie County with two wins in four matches. The Panthers recorded straight-set victories over Clarke, Osceola (21-19, 21-5) and Des Moines North (21-10, 21-9). Panorama lost in straight sets to Des Moines East (21-23, 18-21) and three games versus Saydel (16-21, 21-14, 12-15). Brooke Halterman topped Panorama with 17 kills total, while Kennedy Kuta served up 43 assists.
The Bulldogs last match came Monday night in Baxter in a non-conference contest versus the Collins-Maxwell Raiders (6-5). Van Meter won in straight sets, (25-19, 25-13, 27-25). Tonight’s varsity match between the Panthers and the Bulldogs serves at 7 p.m. in Van Meter.
