Tomorrow in downtown Perry, there will be a special presentation to welcome a new member to the Wall of Witnesses.

The event is being co-sponsored by Hometown Heritage and the Perry Historic Preservation Commission. Research Assistant for Hometown Heritage Alissa Whitmore describes the event and its honoree. “We’re seeking to honor people from our town, everyday people who have made Perry a better place. So our honoree this year is going to be Jim Walstrom. Jim is a former Chamber of Commerce Director. He also has done a number of things that have helped make Perry a better place: he’s co-founded the BRR Ride, he’s still active in town volunteering, working to preserve local history, and he’s just an all-around good guy.”

Walstrom will be unique among the Wall of Witnesses, as he will be the first one who’s still living. A short program will be held in the gallery of the Town Craft Building at 5 p.m., followed by the unveiling of the ceramic relief of Walstrom on the Wall of Witnesses in Souma’s Court. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
