Manson-NW Webster Senior Blake Larsen tallied just 95 yards in his first four games this season. Last week he turned on the jets as he cruised for 91 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Cougars to a 36-7 win over West Central Valley.
While Larsen found the end zone four of the five times for the Cougars, Manson-NW Webster’s offense was a balanced attack. The Cougars’ rushing game resembled the three musketeers, as two other seniors joined Larsen in the 90 plus rushing yards category. Mark Condon recorded 94 yards and a touchdown and Reid Steinberg added 92 yards on just ten carries. The trio did more than enough to allow junior quarterback Derek Girard a modest, yet effective 104 yards passing.
Carson Wadle’s two costly interceptions hampered the Wildcat offense. The lone touchdown for West Central Valley dropped into the arms of Cole Arnburg, who continues his efforts as the second best receiver this season. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, Brock Wolfe was limited for the second straight week. He caught just 3 catches for 49 yards and no touchdowns, but was the leading rusher with 47 yards on the ground.
The Wildcats have dropped four straight and will look to avoid a fifth as they battle the Ogden Bulldogs on Friday.
