Paton-Churdan Schools recently announced some high academic achievements made by the students.
Principal Annie Smith says they are the highest achieving school in math and science and third overall compared to all other schools in the Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency region based on results from the Iowa Department of Education’s EdInsight Reporting System for the 2016-17 school year. Students in grades third through eighth and 11th grade were 87.96-percent proficient in math and 91.67-percent proficient in science.
There are 40 schools that the AEA serves and the difference in overall scores between P-C and first-place Harris-Lake Park School District was just 0.76-percent.
Smith is proud of the academic achievements of her students and believes that will lead to more success for the Rockets in the future.
