The Guthrie County Hospital Foundation offers a free van service to patients needing transportation to various appointments and services. The Foundation is currently looking for volunteers to help facilitate that service.
At least three drivers are needed at this time, but they will accept any number of interested individuals. Interested drivers would need to set aside one eight-hour day, 8am-4pm, per week. Volunteers would transport individuals to the Guthrie County Hospital, Congregate Meals, the Fitness Center, and Guthrie County Health Clinics in Adair, Stuart, and Panora.
Interested individuals need to provide a copy of their driver’s license, undergo a background check, and complete a basic tuberculosis screening. Volunteers would receive a complimentary meal from Sneakers Cafe and drive a hospital minivan. For more information, or to sign up, contact Trish Reha at tricia.reha@gcho.org.
