The Genesis Development 5K Color Run/Walk is happening Saturday.

The race will begin and end at the Webb House in Jefferson. Check-ins are from 8 to 9am, with the race to begin at 9. There are seven color stations along the route. Residential Services Community Support Specialist Rachel Haupert says the cost to participate is $40 per person, except if you are in grades kindergarten through 12th grade.

“$15 is for k-12, which Home State Bank is sponsoring. So we are very happy and fortunate about that.”

Once participants finish the race, Haupert says there will be games and activities like face painting, food and music in Russell Park. Plus, there will be a 50/50 cash raffle. Tickets for the raffle are $1 each or 10 for $15. Haupert notes that you don’t have to be present to win. As of Tuesday, Haupert says they had close $500 already raised. Plus, another $2,500 has been raised from business sponsorships.

All proceeds from the event will go to Genesis Development members.
