New Perry Farmers Market

Tonight is the final Perry farmers market of the year, so the Chamber of Commerce encourages everyone to head to the Josh Davis Plaza and take part.

The Chamber Board felt this was perhaps the most successful year of farmers markets since they took it over several years ago, and they feel that’s the result of the move downtown. For the month of June, the market was held at the Perry Marketplace in Caboose Park. In July, however, it transitioned to the Josh Davis Plaza on 2nd Street. Since then the number of vendors and shoppers has risen considerably, so the Board feels the new location is a keeper.

Board member Emily Leslie was instrumental in the farmers market’s success this year, and she’s already started to answer questions about next year. “I’ve actually had quite a few people already ask, ‘What do you got lined up for next year, what’s the plans, who’s coming, who’s signed up?’ So there is a lot of interest for next year’s season already.”

The final Perry farmers market of 2017 will run tonight from 4-7 p.m. It will return in June of 2018, and will run every Thursday through September.
