A free event is coming to Adel this week, where people can learn about eating well on a manageable budget.

“Spend Smart, Eat Smart” is being sponsored by Dallas County ISU Extension and Outreach, and will be held Thursday from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Community Services Campus at 25747 N Avenue north of Adel. Mary Krisco, Extension’s Human Sciences Specialist in Nutrition and Wellness, will be leading the program. She will teach attendees about simple rules to save money on groceries, strategies to insert new ideas into menu planning, reducing food waste, and the “Spend Smart, Eat Smart” website.

There is no cost, but attendees are asked to register ahead of time by calling the Extension office at 515-993-4281.
