Greene County lost all four of its volleyball matches on Saturday in Huxley at the Ballard tournament. The Rams are now 5-12 overall and 12-27 in sets after not winning a set in Huxley.
Greene County lost to North Polk (Alleman) 20-22, 18-22. Then, Class 4A number two rated Pella took care of the Rams 9-21, 9-21, followed by a 7-21, 7-21 loss to Woodward-Granger, and finally a 16-21, 14-21 loss to Grandview Christian (Des Moines).
Head Coach Donna Carhill said, “We served pretty well in this tournament, but it was apparent we need to continue to work on our defense.”
Megan Durbin had 24 kills on the day to go with 13 digs. The serving leaders for the Rams were Chantel Flack (22-22), Aubrey Heupel (22-25, 1 ace), and Ashley Millard (18-19). Samantha Hardaway had 11 kills and 12 digs. Flack led in digs with 24 and Aubrey Heupel led in assists with 43.
A trip to Nevada on Tuesday is next for the Rams. Greene County will attempt to break a nine match losing streak.
