There were several improvements made by the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers football team (1-3 overall; 0-2 Class 3A District 7) in last week homecoming loss to Carroll. Among the most notable was the team’s success in the passing game. ADM produced a season-high 262 yards of total offense, including 210 through the air, in a 17-14 setback.
Senior quarterback Matthew West completed 18 of 36 passes, connecting with Cole Knoll on a 23-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. Knoll ended the game with a season-high eight receptions for 111 yards. Gavin O’Steen added four catches for 56 yards. Ethan Meyer and Gage Fuller also caught three passes apiece.
ADM head football coach Mike Whisner praised the decision-making of West after Friday’s games. “Every time there’s a play called there’s options.” Whisner said, “There’s a couple of things he can do, and he was doing the right things most of the time. Kudos for a great effort but I think (West) can get better than that.”
ADM head to Harlan this week for a Class 3A District 7 matchup versus the Cyclones. Harlan won their week four game at Glenwood, 17-14.
