It’s been nearly two weeks since the Panorama Panthers volleyball team (3-9 overall) last competed in match play. The layoff ends tonight when the Panthers welcome the West Central Valley Wildcats (1-15 overall) to Panora for a West Central Conference contest. Both teams are searching for their first league victory of the fall.

Panorama was last in action on September 7th in the Perry Volleyball tournament. The Panthers were victorious in one of their four matches on the night, taking fourth place out of seven schools. Panorama head volleyball coach Renae Follmuth said the team spent their extended practice period on improving their serve receive and the different first kill options. The Panthers also worked block and tip coverage defensively along with digging near the edges.

The West Central Valley Wildcats won their first match in tournament play over the weekend at AC/GC. The Wildcats bested the Glidden-Ralston Wildcats (2-7) in three sets (20-22, 21-11, 15-5), ending a 12-match losing streak. Tonight’s varsity match serves at 7 p.m.
