The Adair County Conservation Board will be educating their next generation of hunters with a Hunter Safety course next month. The course is divided into two mandatory sessions. The first session is 6-9:30pm at the Greenfield Public Library. The second, acting as a field day, is the following Saturday, October 7th from 9am-5pm in the maintenance shop/trap range at Mormon Trail Park in Bridgewater.
Hunter education is a mandatory program designed to instruct interested hunters in hunter safety and other recreational survival and wellness skills. Iowa law requires that anyone born after January 1st 1972 be certified in hunter education before acquiring an Iowa hunting license.
All registrants must be 11 years of age or over by the date of the first session. There is no cost to attend the class. Attendees are asked to bring a sack lunch, drink, and pencil and should be dressed appropriately for the outdoor session on Saturday.
